We Are Better Together
Jessee Muñiz-Poland – Manchester Latino Affairs Council
When I sat down with Jessee Muñiz-Poland, it didn’t take long to see the deep love she has for her family and her community. She lit up as she shared the story of how she met her husband, her beloved “ginger,” as she calls him, with a twinkle in her eyes after more than 30 years of marriage. She proudly spoke of raising her children in Manchester, recalling each school they attended, and the pride she carries for the town was undeniable.?
Jessee’s commitment to community service is just as strong. As a dedicated member of the Manchester Latino Affairs Council, her mission is simple yet powerful: to support people when they need it most. Her passion for educating and uplifting the Hispanic community resonates with my own goals, and from the start, we shared an immediate sense of kinship.
Jessee holds a long history of service through her career in social work and her involvement on various town committees, always guided by her personal motto: “People Helping People.” It’s a value that shines through in every story she tells and every effort she takes to make Manchester a stronger, more inclusive place.
On Sept. 15th, Jessee will be front and center at two exciting events: the Hispanic Heritage Flag Raising in Manchester and the first-ever Salsa of Manchester celebration. Both events are about honoring culture, fostering connection, and bringing the community together in joy.
As Jessee reminded me, “We are all better together.”
