Thank You for Making the 2025 UR Community Cares Graffiti Battle a Success!
Dear Friends,
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the 2025 UR Community Cares Graffiti Battle—what an incredible day of art, community, and purpose! With your help, we turned creativity into real impact, raising money to help us expand our services for older adults and people with disabilities across Connecticut. Watch the recap on our YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/K90ydYt2_IM
We’re so proud to announce our winners:
Most Creative – Brian Wentpaint mural
Best Theme – Lauren Clayton mural
People’s Choice Award – Brian Wentpaint
To all the artists who shared their talent, thank you for putting your heart into every brush or spray can stroke. You made this event unforgettable.
One of the artists paid homage to a friend battling Sickle Cell Disease, her health struggles, and he wanted to express his appreciation for the strength that she has to fight her disease. Another artist mentioned his struggle with Fibromyalgia and its crippling effect on his hands, “some days I can’t pick up a paint brush so to see that I could accomplish this today, I am very grateful.”
Our theme, Canvas of Courage: Graffiti Battle for All Abilities, celebrated the power of expression, resilience, and unity.
In a world where so many silently carry their struggles, we believe in the transformative power of kindness and understanding. By creating spaces where every voice is heard and every story matters, we can paint a future filled with empathy, grace, and connection. One act of compassion at a time, we can spark a movement—and together, we can be the change.

Another artist said, “Life is about One Love.” Her artwork represented unity, inclusion, and universal love, often expressed as a greeting or farewell. It’s a message of solidarity, goodwill, and the belief in a shared humanity.

Huge thanks to our volunteers who helped plan and execute every detail, our generous sponsors, and Urban Lodge Brewing for hosting us and giving our community the perfect space to gather and celebrate. Thank you to RiseUp For Arts and Jerry’s Artarama for supplying the canvases, gift cards and easels!
Because of you, UR Community Cares will be able to serve even more older and disabled adults—offering companionship, tech education, accessible resources, and above all, connection.
With heartfelt gratitude,
