Graffiti Battle Update: Canvas of Courage
We are thrilled to announce that 20 talented artists from Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts will be painting on the theme “Canvas of Courage: Graffiti Battle for All Abilities.” This theme reflects our dedication to disability awareness, empowerment, and accessibility. Our goal is to create an event that not only showcases artistic talent but also highlights the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. By addressing physical disability barriers, vision or hearing disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and mental health struggles, we aim to ignite meaningful conversations and inspire action towards building a more inclusive world.
Join us on May 17th from 1-4pm at Urban Lodge Brewing! Enjoy food and drinks while supporting our organization, as 10% of all sales will contribute to the fundraiser.
Event Highlights:
Shoe Art: Nick Morrett will be painting a custom-made pair of shoes for the organization
Music: Enjoy performances by CT State Manchester Ice Radio DJ, Manchester Town Troubadour Christian Loftus, and UConn’s A Cappella group “Drop The Bass”, singing songs from their new album “Honey”
Kids Zone: Engage in arts and crafts activities and meet animals from Lutz Children’s Museum.
Host/MC: Nadia Sims, Manchester Poet Laureate, will be our host and MC for the event.
Vendors: Spotted Hawk Healing Accessories will showcase their beautiful jewelry.
Silent Auction: Bid on unique, high-value items donated by local businesses and supporters. Additionally, the stunning creations made during the event will be auctioned, giving attendees a chance to take home a one-of-a-kind masterpiece while supporting a great cause.
Join us this May for a-MAY-zing opportunities to learn, connect, and grow. We look forward to seeing you soon!
