| We taught technology classes, including Smartphones at a Glance, MyChart, and Everyday Uses of AI. We continued to expand access to tech education and one-on-one support for older adults across Connecticut. In July, we provided tech support in Manchester, Bethany, Farmington, Bloomfield, and Vernon. We onboarded new volunteers in our Manchester Tech Center and prepared for new tech classes beginning in September at the Cheshire and East Hartford Senior Centers. If you are interested in having our tech classes in your town, please give us a call. Check out the events page on our website to join us at an upcoming event. |

Our Blind and Low Vision Support Group brought together valuable community expertise, including the Director of the Connecticut Library for Accessible Books and a local representative from Eschenbach, who shared and demonstrated products designed to support people with low vision.
We also visited New Haven County senior centers to present resources for low vision, bring products, and offer live demonstrations. People at the Waterbury, Derby, Oxford, East Shore, Milford, and Atwater Senior Centers were so interested in the Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses, handheld magnifiers, tinted lens glasses, and all the low vision products to improve their lives.

In addition, we continued our Braille classes, which take place twice each month, and met with partners at CT State Community College Manchester to provide food for students via Midwest Food Bank and explore fall programming opportunities. We are also proud to now be a member of the Coalition for Elder Justice of Connecticut, where we are beginning to collaborate and plan for future events.
Behind the scenes, we transitioned our Tech Center in Manchester into a new space to make it feel more homey and welcoming, met with our board of directors to help shape programming and begin planning for 2027, and continued working with our tech team and community partners, including the Alzheimer’s Association, to build future events and expand support for older adults across the state.
In our Neighbors Helping Neighbors program, volunteers are providing companionship and transportation to decrease loneliness and isolation.
Thank you to our volunteers, donors, partners, and community members who make this work possible.
Happy August,
Michelle Puzzo, Executive Director
